[Help] Web interface completely down

Post by Grasshopper »

5 days ago Windows explorer was really slow when I clicked on My Computer. I decided it was because the NAS connection must be hanging so I deleted the share and restarted the PC. Drive 1 and 2's lights were flashing a lot and it wouldn't react to a quick press of the power button ( shut down ) so I ended up doing a hard power cycle. I tried to remap the NAS ( F424-Max) but it failed. ( Network name cannot be found ) Using net view NAS_IP I'd get System error 53. Pinging worked, Test-NetConnection NAS_IP -Port 445 sometimes says False and sometimes is True. So, currently I can find the device on the network and file sharing is enabled. Trying to open the web interface fails ( 504 error ) but once, 2 days ago, I was able to get the login screen to come up but it wouldn't accept my login and eventually went back to the 504 error. With the lights flashing I decided maybe there was an issue with a drive and it's being rebuilt ( RAID5 ) so I left it for another 2 days. Nothing has changed other than basically all 6 lights are flashing/active now. Since I can't login to the NAS interface I can't see if it's complaining about a drive, etc. What should I do now? I'm trying to decide if I let it keep going for awhile, hard power down and put the drives in my desktop to check the drives, or reinstall TOS and hope for the best.

Based on the description you provided, this issue is most likely caused by Btrfs defragmentation or space reclamation, or by multiple tasks that are causing high system load and lag, such as RAID synchronization, backups, or high-bitrate video decoding. We recommend that you wait until the drive light stops flashing.
If you have enabled quotas for shared folders, you may want to consider disabling them to reduce the overhead of related background tasks.
