Every DAS drive slot reports I/O device errors, causing the hard drive to drop offline. It briefly recovers after reboot, but drops offline again within 10 minutes under load. The hard drives work normally for hours in another hard drive enclosure, and the issue only occurs with this DAS. How to resolve?

If the hard drives themselves are fault-free, the problem is most likely in the connection link between the DAS and the computer (power supply, signal, or driver). Please try the following solutions in order:

  1. First, connect the DAS to the computer's rear USB port (more stable power and signal). If ineffective, test with another computer to rule out the original computer as the cause.
  2. Use a high-quality short cable adapter: try connecting through a 0.3m or 0.5m 10Gbps USB hub (USB-A/USB-C) to shorten the physical transmission path and reduce signal attenuation.
  3. Avoid using generic drivers. Go to the computer brand's official website to download and install the dedicated USB driver that exactly matches your computer model.
  4. Non-original cables may be of poor quality. Be sure to use the original USB cable that came with the device.
